Permitting

Filming in Tucumcari & Quay County: Easy as Pie!

(Just remember all the ingredients before beginning!)

Filming in our beautiful town is a breeze! We want to make your experience smooth and enjoyable, so here's a quick rundown on permits:

The Good News:

  • Permitting is straightforward! We've streamlined the process to make things easy for you.

  • No permit fees in Quay County (for now)! That's right, filming here is currently free.

  • We're here to help! Feel free to reach out to us with any questions.

Where you'll need a permit:

  • Filming on government property: This includes things like parks, public buildings, and courthouses.

  • Filming on highways and city streets: If you'll be disrupting traffic or need to use traffic control measures (like cones or flaggers), you'll need a permit.

Where you don't need a permit:

  • Filming on private property: As long as you have permission from the owner, you're good to go!

  • Please, as is standard notify everyone in the neighborhood that you be filming in a timely fashion well in advance of your production.

Just a heads up: The world of film permits can change sometimes, just like the exciting film industry itself. We'll do our best to keep this information up-to-date!
